As a Starbucks global responsibility manager on the Food Security team, you will be working to optimize and innovate on goals to reduce food waste and invest in programs to increase equitable access to nutritious food. Specifically, you will be working cross functionally to identify programmatic challenges, test solutions, and scale what works. This will require a strong ability to lead and influence project teams, implement optimization plans, and continuously capture insights to inform future program strategies. Therefore, we are looking for a partner who is adept at building relationships, a skilled problem solver, a logistics expert, and someone who is familiar with food rescue operations and NGO partnerships.


The manager, global responsibility will be responsible for overseeing the ongoing implementation and optimization of the FoodShare food donation program at US-company owned stores, while supporting the governance for food donation, hunger relief, and other impact at scale programs across the Enterprise.

As a manager global responsibility , you will

  • Driving program strategy and design: Build and execute comprehensive social impact & sustainability strategy plans for FoodShare at US company-owned stores, in partnership with cross-functional teams, to meet enterprise food loss & waste, and social impact goals
  • Identifying and managing financials, measurement, & evaluation: Develop and manage a measurement & evaluation portfolio to support FoodShare & hunger relief program results, closely monitor progress, facilitate impact reporting, and bring forward opportunities for further impact.
  • Supporting new innovations: Identify and lead team to effectively articulate the problems to solve for the business through the development of new impact opportunities rooted in deep insights while fostering a culture of innovation, inspiring creative thinking in team and encouraging risk taking.
  • Cultivating collaborative relationships: Establish and nurture strategic partnerships with key NGOs to advance impact at scale for social impact & sustainability priorities, actively engaging with both community and internal stakeholders to further partnership goals, collaboration, and impact.
  • Leading others: Able to set goals and priorities for an overall working team, while focusing on developing organizational capability and modeling how we work together. Identify and communicate key responsibilities to individual partners and promote a can-do attitude to achieve business results while driving meaningful impact. Will manage direct report(s), coaching and supporting their growth and development.

We’d love to hear from people with:

  • 5-7 years of diversified experience leading social or environmental impact programs and projects and/or leading strategy programs, projects, and cross-functional teams
  • 3+ years of SME experience with food donation logistics. Experience with Starbucks supply chain operations preferred.
  • Demonstrated project management experience, with strong organizational skills, attention to detail
  • Experience with database management, and mastery of Excel required
  • Excellent written and verbal presentation skills as core requirements, mastery of PowerPoint preferred; experience in creating executive presentations preferred
  • Ability to work both independently and inter-dependently with a diverse range of leaders, including executive, mid-management and front-line leaders, in both remote and face-to-face environments
  • Ability to manage projects in a fast-paced environment, work with a high level of professional maturity, and aptitude for navigating large, ambiguous and matrixed organizations
  • Experience clearly and concisely synthesizing and reporting on complex programs for a diverse group of audiences
